If you want to know what your child will be doing when, you can look at our timetable:
Ahoy There! At the beginning of this year the children have settled extremely well and we have began our new term exploring pirates, as well as following the children’s own interests:
‘Pirates in the Park.’
After a busy two weeks the children enjoyed a pirate adventure in the local park. At the park the children revisited the story of ‘There’s a Shark in the Park’ and excitedly hunted for pirate treasure using telescopes.
Preschool are currently investigating the topic ‘Ourselves’ and have used their sense of touch, taste, sight, smell and hearing to explore objects. Children have enjoyed manipulating, smelling and tasting a variety of food and have recently visited the local supermarket. The children have loved the stories ‘I went to the Zoopermarket’ and ‘Don’t put your finger in the jelly, Nelly!’
We are currently in our fifth year of carrying out forest schools and have successfully achieved the Woodland’s Trust ‘Green Tree School Gold Award’ for our dedication to the outdoor curriculum. Last year we extended our outdoor activities and now offer a beach school programme in the summer term. During our ‘Outdoor Adventures’ the children visited the local woodland and beach and confidently explored den building, nature sculptures, tree climbing and FIRE!
