COVID-19 (Coronavirus) School Closure
School is still closed to the majority of pupils but remains open for children of Key Workers and Vulnerable Pupils who do not have any alternative arrangements. These arrangements have now been reviewed and the school has decided to implement a phased process of wider reopening, based on advice from Durhan County Council which takes account of the current coronavirus circumstances in the North East of England.
All of us want to get more pupils back into school as soon as it is safe to do so. We don’t want to see classrooms empty for a day longer than they need to be. However, the first priority has to be the safety of everyone in the school community. We are that sure every family has their own worries and concerns about this partial opening of school and the next steps that will eventually involve all your children. Please be assured, no steps will be taken without due consideration to the safety and happiness of each and every child. To that end, we have decided to implement a phased re-opening of our school from 15 June, starting with pupils in year six, then year one, and then reception. The reopening of our Nursery provision will commence after Reception, as we are starting with the older pupils first who understand social distancing.

Here is the latest letter from Mrs Clark, the Head Teacher, about our changing on site arrangements.
Please follow the current safety advice, to stay safe, happy and well. We will continue to provide further information in the coming days and weeks as soon we are able to do so. Best wishes to each and every one of you.
We are, of course, continuing to support home learning and provide distance education for all pupils in all year groups not currently attending lessons on site. More help, advice and information is available on our ‘Home Learning’ pages (click on the tab at the top of the page).

Arts Council Award
We are very excited to announce that we have achieved the Artsmark Gold Award, awarded to us by the Arts council of England.
This means that as a school community we have worked together to promote arts and culture in our values and ethos, engaged our children with the arts, embedded a diverse curriculum with lots of cultural opportunities, developed all of our staff and ensured equality and diversity for all.
We are determined to keep building on this success and offer our pupils ever increasing cultural capital.
Thank you to all of our parents, carers, governors and friends of the school – we couldn’t have done it without you! And congratulations to Arts Lead Mrs Sergeant and all of our hard working and inspirational staff team.
